When the Petersons leave for vacation, their house decides it's time for a holiday, too! Jacqueline Davis must be a hilarious dinner guest to have come up with the word plays that follow. The sunporch wants to see the sea, but the grumpy basement refuses "to rise to the occasion". The roof calls him a "stick in the mud" as the house sets off, with the front door as the ring leader. Lee White's oil paint and pencil illustrations conjure a vacation that makes you want to clap.
